Holden Colorado / Captiva stereo fix

It's a very common fault, the touch screen component of the factory Holden stereo simply dies of old age.  Sadly "old age" starts around the 2014 models and onwards.

What goes wrong?

Usually the touchscreen just becomes unresponsive, just doesn't do anything no matter how hard you punch it. 

Maybe the Bluetooth won't connect anymore, usually because the car is working with firmware that is probably nearly a decade older than your phone.

Sometimes a couple of the buttons or volume control don't do anything, or you can change radio stations but can't tune to anything other than a preset. 

Going to any remaining Holden service agent for a replacement stereo will likely cost several thousand dollars - if parts are even available. 

How do you fix an unresponsive Holden stereo? 

We have good news, and even better news.

Every model has a different dash, some with MyLink systems, some with less integrated factory features, and a variety of parts are required. 

For example, in the 2017 to 2020 Colorado ute, Holden offered the MyLink system with two screen sizes.  They look similar, but the parts we need to order are quite specific.
