Premium Car Audio — New Zealand

Better Audio.
Any Lamborghini.

You didn't buy a Lamborghini for the stereo. But when the engine's not singing, the cabin should be. The factory audio across the Lamborghini range — regardless of model or spec — is an afterthought in a car that isn't. We can fix that. Every model, every year. Factory look, no permanent modifications, nothing that can't be returned to standard.

Worth knowing

Depending on the model, spec, and era, some Lamborghinis have no tweeters at all — or tweeters so inadequate they make little difference. The factory stereo doesn't have the power to drive the speakers properly either. The good news: the cabins are well-built and the speaker locations are excellent. Give the system proper amplification, proper speaker components, and personalised calibration — and the improvement is significant.

Current Production

Revuelto, Temerario, Urus

The current Lamborghini lineup — the Revuelto as the V12 hybrid successor to the Aventador, the Temerario as the V8 twin-turbo hybrid successor to the Huracán, and the Urus SUV in S and Performante forms. All three are fully upgradeable. The Urus receives front and rear door treatment; the Revuelto and Temerario are front-only configurations with underfloor or behind-seat subwoofer placement.

Previous Generation

Huracán, Aventador

The outgoing generation — the Huracán in all its variants (EVO, STO, Tecnica, Sterrato) and the Aventador — now increasingly common on the NZ used market. Both are two-door, front-only speaker configurations. Both respond very well to DSP amplification and proper speaker upgrades.

Older Classics

Diablo, Murciélago & earlier

Older Lamborghinis — the Murciélago, Diablo, and earlier models — are some of the most rewarding builds we do. The factory audio from this era is rudimentary at best, and the cabins are focused enough that a proper system makes a genuine difference to the driving experience. We've worked on the full range and know the options for each model.

The Huracán, Gallardo, Aventador, Revuelto, and Temerario are all two-door configurations — primarily front speaker locations only, with subwoofer placed underfloor or behind the seat depending on the model. The Urus is a full SUV — four-door, with front and rear door treatment and more subwoofer placement options including a custom enclosure in the rear cargo area. We've worked across the full Lamborghini range and know the specific requirements of each model.

  • High-fidelity tweeter and crossover set
  • Micro amplifier — under or behind seat
  • Sound deadening — doors
  • Power kit, cables and minor parts
  • Installation and calibration

System One addresses the two things the factory got most wrong — tweeters and presence. Many Lamborghinis left the factory without proper tweeters, or with units so underpowered they contribute almost nothing. A high-fidelity tweeter and crossover set lifts the sound up to ear level, adds width and separation between channels, and brings the upper frequency range — vocals, strings, recorded detail — fully to life for the first time. A micro amplifier hidden under the floor or behind the seat drives the factory speakers and new tweeters with proper power, bringing presence to the factory system. Sound deadening in the doors firms up the panels, reduces acoustic loss, and lets the speakers work as they're designed to. The result is immediately, obviously better — and completely invisible.

  • Compact underfloor subwoofer
  • Component speaker and tweeter set
  • Two-channel amplifier
  • Sound deadening — doors
  • Power kit, cables and minor parts
  • Installation and calibration

System Two adds a component speaker upgrade and compact subwoofer to the amplification foundation, giving the system a proper full-range response for the first time. A two-channel amplifier drives new component speakers and tweeters in the front doors, replacing or supplementing the factory drivers with units capable of reproducing the full midrange and top end properly. A compact underfloor (or behind seat) subwoofer handles the bass frequencies that door speakers simply can't produce — tuned to add presence and weight without the window-rattling excess that gives subwoofers a bad reputation. Sound deadening firms the door panels and reduces acoustic loss. Everything is hidden. Nothing is permanent.

Ultimate
Refinement.

  • Multichannel DSP amp/processor
  • High-end component speaker and tweeter set
  • Compact subwoofer — underfloor, behind seat, or custom enclosure (Urus)
  • Sound deadening — doors
  • Power kit, cables and minor parts
  • Installation and calibration by ear

The complete build. Every element of the audio system — speakers, subwoofer, amplification, and signal processing — addressed and calibrated specifically for the vehicle and the owner. A multichannel DSP amplifier and processor takes full control of the signal chain, correcting timing, phase, and EQ independently for every speaker and tweeter in the system. It also solves the factory stereo's lack of clean signal output — cleaning and optimising what the head unit sends before it reaches the speakers. High-end component speakers replace the factory drivers. The subwoofer is placed under the floor, under the dash, behind the seat, or in the Urus, potentially in a custom enclosure in the cargo area. The system is tuned by ear for the specific car and the owner's listening preferences. Completely invisible. Fully reversible. Totally adjustable. This is where the Lamborghini becomes the experience it was always capable of being.

New Zealand's car audio specialists.

Rapid Radio has been installing and calibrating car audio systems in Auckland for over two decades. We work across the full spectrum — from everyday EVs through to Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Tesla — with every build calibrated by ear to the vehicle and the owner. No compromise installs. Factory-clean finish. Every time.

No two builds are the same — and that's the point.

Because the DSP is the engine of every upgrade, the hardware around it is entirely flexible. Entry-level speaker sets will sound dramatically better than the factory system — and world-class reference components will do things the factory engineers never imagined. We work across the full range, from practical upgrades to reference builds, and every system is calibrated by ear before you leave.

Can you upgrade the audio in any Lamborghini?

Yes. We work across the full Lamborghini range — current models including the Revuelto, Temerario, and Urus, recent models including the Huracán and Aventador, and older classics including the Gallardo, Murciélago, Diablo, and earlier. Every model and configuration is upgradeable.

How much does a Lamborghini audio upgrade cost in New Zealand?

Pricing depends on the model, configuration, and system level. Options start from under $2000.

My Lamborghini doesn't seem to have proper tweeters — is that normal?

Yes, unfortunately. Depending on the model, spec, and era, some Lamborghinis left the factory with units so inadequate they make little difference to the sound. System One addresses this directly — a proper tweeter and crossover set makes an immediate, audible difference to clarity, width, and overall presence.

Where does the subwoofer go in a Lamborghini?

In the Huracán, Gallardo, and Aventador, the subwoofer typically goes underfloor or behind the seat — both are clean, invisible installations. In the Urus, there are more options: underfloor, behind a seat, or a custom enclosure in the rear cargo area for a more substantial build.

Will this affect my Lamborghini's warranty?

In most cases, no. All installations are fully reversible — no cutting, no permanent modifications, everything can be returned to factory condition. We recommend confirming with your Lamborghini dealer if you're within the warranty period.

Can you add CarPlay or Android Auto to a Lamborghini?

On many models, yes — either by replacing the head unit (older models) or by adding wireless CarPlay/Android Auto to the existing factory system. It depends on the model and year. Contact us to discuss what's possible for your specific car.

How long does a Lamborghini audio upgrade take?

System One is typically a one-day installation. System Two usually takes two days. System Three with full DSP calibration by ear is generally two to three days days, depending on the model and complexity.

Do you work on older Lamborghinis like the Diablo or Murciélago?

Yes — and they're some of the most rewarding builds we do. The factory audio from that era is basic, the cabins are well-suited to a proper system, and the improvement is dramatic. We've worked on the full range from current production back to the earliest models.
