Haval has grown quickly in New Zealand — the H6, Jolion, and H9 now make up a significant slice of the SUV market, and for good reason. Well-equipped, well-priced, and in the case of the H9 Ultra, genuinely well-specced from an audio perspective. But across the range, the factory audio story is the same one we see everywhere: adequate hardware, compromised by factory tuning, limited by factory signal processing. The H6 and Jolion cover the volume end of the range — solid platforms for a straightforward upgrade. The H9 is a different conversation, particularly the Ultra variant with its Infinity 10-speaker system, 8-channel amplifier, and underseat subwoofer already in place. That car has the hardware. What it needs is a DSP amplifier to unlock it. Either way, we've worked on them all. The approach is always the same — no shortcuts, no unnecessary complexity, nothing that changes how the car looks or behaves from the factory.
H6 — Current & Previous Generation
The H6 is Haval's volume seller and comes in two distinct generations, both still common on NZ roads. The current generation runs 8 or 9 speakers depending on trim — Lux and Ultra variants have a solid speaker count to work with. The older generation starts at 6 speakers on base variants, 8 on upper trims. Across both generations the upgrade path is straightforward — DSP amplification, subwoofer upgrade, and door deadening make an immediate and noticeable difference.
Jolion
The Jolion is Haval's compact SUV — popular, practical, and a clean upgrade platform. Lower trims run 4 speakers standard, upper variants step up to 6 speakers with DTS processing. Either way, the fundamentals are the same: add a subwoofer, add amplification, treat the doors. The result is a system that feels significantly more capable than the factory spec suggests.
H9
The H9 was discontinued in New Zealand in 2021 but there are plenty on the road — and it's worth covering. The Lux variant runs standard audio with a subwoofer already fitted, which we replace with something better. The Ultra is the interesting one — Infinity 10-speaker premium audio with an 8-channel amplifier and underseat subwoofer already in place. That's a substantial factory system. A multichannel DSP amplifier is the upgrade that unlocks what it's actually capable of.

How long does the installation take?
Most Haval audio upgrades are completed in a single day. More involved builds — particularly System Three with full speaker replacement and DSP calibration — may require the vehicle overnight. We'll give you a clear timeframe when you book.
How much does a Haval audio upgrade cost?
Pricing depends on your model, factory audio configuration, and the system you choose. System One starts from under $2,000 installed for most models. System Two and Three pricing varies based on DSP unit selection and component choices — contact us for a quote specific to your Haval.
Will an audio upgrade affect my CarPlay or factory features?
Every system we install leaves the factory head unit and all factory controls in place. CarPlay, Android Auto, and steering wheel controls all work exactly as before. Nothing is removed. Nothing is bypassed. The upgrade sits behind the scenes.
My Jolion has DTS audio. Is that worth upgrading?
The Jolion's upper trims — Lux Hybrid and Ultra Hybrid — include a 6-speaker system with DTS processing. DTS is a capable audio format, but the factory implementation is limited by the signal chain. A DSP amplifier gives us independent control that the factory system wasn't designed to provide. System Two is the natural fit for these variants.

Does my Haval have a factory subwoofer?
Yes — and it makes a meaningful difference. Some Haval variants leave the factory without a subwoofer fitted. Others have one already. Where there's no factory sub, we add a compact underseat unit. Where there is one, we replace it with something better. Either way, System One addresses this as the foundation of the upgrade.
My H9 Ultra has Infinity premium audio. What can you do with it?
The H9 Ultra leaves the factory with Infinity premium audio — 10 speakers, an 8-channel amplifier, and an underseat subwoofer already fitted. That's a substantial system. We don't replace it — we add a multichannel DSP amplifier that gives us independent control over every speaker. Timing, phase, and equalisation corrected per channel. The factory interface works exactly as before. The result is significantly better than what Infinity delivers out of the box.
Can you upgrade a Haval H9? It's no longer a current model.
Yes. The H9 was discontinued in New Zealand in 2021 but there are plenty of them still on the road and we can upgrade any variant. The H9 Ultra in particular is one of the more rewarding builds in the Haval range — the Infinity system already has the hardware, it just needs proper signal processing to perform as it should.
