Toyota Hilux Audio Upgrade — System Two
TOYOTA HILUX AUDIO UPGRADE — SYSTEM TWO
Complete DSP control over every speaker in your Hilux
This is the upgrade that makes the factory audio perform the way it should have from the start.
System Two adds a multichannel DSP amplifier to the subwoofer and tweeter foundation of System One. For JBL-equipped models, this is where the nine-speaker hardware finally gets what it needs. For standard models, this is where the Hilux stops sounding like a work vehicle and starts sounding like a proper listening environment.
On most Hilux models up to and including the 2024 generation, we may recommend a head unit replacement as part of the System Two build — it gives us a cleaner signal chain and a better overall result. On 2025 facelift and new-generation models, the DSP connects directly to the factory signal chain. Either way the outcome is the same — complete independent control over every speaker in the vehicle.
SYSTEM TWO INCLUDES:
- Compact underseat subwoofer
- High-fidelity tweeter and crossover upgrade
- Multichannel DSP amplifier
- Full individual speaker timing, phase and EQ calibration
- Sound deadening — front doors
- Power kit, cables and minor parts
- Installation and calibration
HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS:
The multichannel DSP amplifier is the heart of System Two. It takes the signal from the factory head unit and processes it independently for every speaker in the vehicle — correcting timing, phase, and equalisation channel by channel. This addresses the acoustic problems that every vehicle cabin creates and that no factory EQ can fix. In a Hilux cab, where road noise and panel resonance already compromise the listening environment, independent per-speaker control makes a significant audible difference.
The DSP also cleans the signal. The Hilux factory head unit provides a speaker-level output rather than a clean line-level signal — the DSP processor corrects this before it reaches the amplified channels, resulting in significantly lower distortion and better dynamic range across the full volume range.
For JBL-equipped models, the nine-speaker system is capable of significantly better performance than the factory amplification allows. Independent EQ control over the tweeters, door speakers, and subwoofer separately — rather than the blunt bass and treble controls in the head unit — transforms what the JBL hardware actually sounds like.
The system is calibrated using professional, specialist software — precise independent control over every parameter. Once set, the factory head unit's bass and treble controls still allow smaller on-the-fly adjustments. Wired remote controls are available for most of our DSP amplifiers and subwoofers.
Suitable for all Hilux grades and generations but particularly recommended for JBL-equipped models.
