TOYOTA RAV4 AUDIO UPGRADE — SYSTEM ONE

The starting point

A significant and immediately noticeable improvement ...and for many RAV4 owners, this is all they need.

Every RAV4 leaves the factory without proper bass. The standard six-speaker setup has no subwoofer. The JBL system on Limited and premium grades has one — but it's undersized, underdriven, and tucked in the corner of the boot where it does the minimum required to justify the badge. System One fixes this without changing anything visible.

Where possible, we may recommend replacing the head unit as part of the build.  It's always a better outcome where it's possible.  It can be done on nearly all RAV4 models, although the 2019 onwards are a little different , we'll need to check what's possible in your version.

Even if we're working with the factory radio, System One connects to the factory signal chain and runs independently without touching the head unit. Either way, CarPlay, Android Auto, and all factory controls remain fully functional.

HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS:

The subwoofer is the single biggest improvement available for any RAV4. No door-mounted speaker can produce proper bass regardless of brand or power rating — a dedicated subwoofer hidden away does what the factory system physically cannot. 

Compact, invisible, and tuned to add presence without excess.

The tweeter upgrade lifts the sound to ear level — adding width, separation, and the upper frequency detail that factory RAV4 tweeters, where they exist at all, consistently underdeliver. On standard six-speaker models without A-pillar tweeters, the improvement is dramatic. On JBL-equipped models, it replaces or supplements tweeters that are capable of significantly better performance than the factory amplification allows.

The amplifier drives the factory front speakers and new subwoofer with proper power, removing the strain from the factory head unit. Sound deadening in the front doors reduces road noise and acoustic loss — at motorway speeds, the difference is noticeable before you even turn the music on.

Factory stereo, CarPlay, Android Auto, and all factory controls remain fully functional. Nothing looks different.
