Toyota RAV4 Audio Upgrade — System Two
TOYOTA RAV4 AUDIO UPGRADE — SYSTEM TWO
Complete DSP control over every speaker in your RAV4
This is the upgrade that makes the factory audio perform the way it should have from the start.
System Two adds a multichannel DSP amplifier to the subwoofer and tweeter foundation. For JBL-equipped RAV4s, this is where the branded hardware finally gets what it needs. For standard-spec models, this is where the RAV4 stops sounding like a family car and starts sounding like a proper listening environment.
On RAV4 models up to and including some 2019 variants, we may recommend a head unit replacement as part of the System Two build – it gives us a cleaner signal chain and a better overall result. On later models, the DSP amplifier connects directly to the factory signal. Either way the outcome is the same – complete independent control over every speaker in the vehicle.
SYSTEM TWO INCLUDES:
- Compact subwoofer — underseat or under cargo floor area
- High-fidelity tweeter and crossover upgrade
- Multichannel DSP amplifier with app control
- Full individual speaker timing, phase and EQ calibration
- Sound deadening — front doors
- Power kit, cables and minor parts
- Installation and calibration
HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS:
The multichannel DSP amplifier is the heart of System Two. It connects to the factory signal chain — taking what the head unit sends and processing it independently for every speaker in the vehicle before it reaches any driver. Timing, phase, and equalisation are corrected channel by channel, addressing the acoustic problems that every car cabin creates and that no factory EQ can fix.
The DSP also cleans the signal. The RAV4's integrated head unit provides a speaker-level output rather than a clean line-level signal — the DSP processor corrects this before it reaches the amplified channels, resulting in significantly lower distortion and better dynamic range across the full volume range.
For JBL-equipped RAV4s, the nine-speaker hardware is capable of significantly better performance than the factory amplification allows. Independent EQ control over the A-pillar tweeters, door speakers, and subwoofer separately — rather than the blunt bass/treble/balance controls in the head unit — transforms what the JBL system actually sounds like.
For standard six-speaker RAV4s, the combination of proper amplification, a real subwoofer, and DSP calibration is the closest thing to a full system replacement without touching a single factory component.
Once we set up the audio tuning with specialist, professional software, The factory interface is unchanged. Headunit audio settings like bass/treble/EQ etc will still allow you to make smaller changes on the fly, and remotes are also available for most of our DSP amplifiers and subwoofers.
