Volkswagen Audio Upgrade — System Three
VOLKSWAGEN AUDIO UPGRADE — SYSTEM THREE
The complete build.
Every element of the audio system addressed — speakers, subwoofer, amplification, signal processing, and acoustic treatment — calibrated not just for the vehicle, but the owner as well.
System Three is where the Volkswagen becomes the listening experience it was always capable of being. Front and rear speakers are upgraded throughout. The DSP processor gives us independent control over every driver. Sound deadening goes into all four doors. The system is calibrated by ear using professional tuning sofware before you leave.
SYSTEM THREE INCLUDES:
- Front component speaker and tweeter upgrade
- Rear speaker upgrade with independent L/R channel wiring where required
- Multichannel DSP amp/processor with app control
- Full individual speaker timing, phase and EQ calibration
- Compact subwoofer — underseat or underfloor
- Sound deadening — all four doors
- Power kit, cables and minor parts
- Installation and calibration by ear
HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS:
Front component speakers replace the factory drivers with units selected specifically for the Volkswagen's cabin size, door configuration, and the owner's listening preferences. Component sets range from high-value performers through to reference-grade drivers — the DSP platform is engineered to make all of them perform beyond their price point.
Rear speakers are upgraded and independently controlled via the DSP — not an afterthought. Independent left and right rear channel control means the rear contribution supports the overall soundstage rather than competing with it.
Golf Mk8 owners note: the Golf Mk8 factory rear channel combines left and right into a single control channel, meaning true stereo rear control doesn't exist from the factory. At System Three level we restore independent left and right rear channels through dedicated wiring.
Once calibrated, the factory fader and balance controls must not be adjusted — the DSP takes over all sound management from this point. This is more involved than a standard build and is factored into the build from the start.
The subwoofer at System Three level can be a more capable unit than System One or Two — still compact enough to fit under or behind a seat or underfloor, but with more output and better low-frequency extension and fully adjustable.
Sound deadening across all four doors significantly reduces road, tyre, and wind noise. The doors perform better as speaker enclosures, and the cabin becomes a noticeably quieter, more focused listening environment.
The system is calibrated by ear using the music that matters most to the owner — not a test tone or measurement average, but a real listening session in the actual vehicle until it's exactly right.
No visible changes to the interior. Everything sounds completely different.
